The east coast has many great cities, but Boston is one of the best. There is a massive amount of activities to capture your interest—the city, one of America’s oldest, has some of the country’s most gorgeous architecture and historical sites.

Start in Copley Square and walk over to the Prudential Center, the tallest in the city, for a fantastic view. You can also take a quick walk to Newbury Street, a chic street known for great shopping and cute eateries.

Since great seafood restaurants abound, head on over to the Union Oyster House, where the waitresses are legendarily rude but the fish is amazingly fresh. Oggi in Harvard Square makes a great snack, and you can spend some time watching Cambridge’s wanna-be punkers hang out in “the Pit.”

From there, walk through Harvard Yard to sample some higher learning. If you’re a sports fan, make a pilgrimage to Fenway Park to see where the Red Sox broke the curse and catch a game in season. For nightlife, The Middle East Restaurant & Night Club has been booking the hottest alternative bands for decades—stop in for falafel and a show.
