There’s no need to get bugged out over bugs once you’ve gotten up close and personal with them at The Insectarium. This all-insect museum is the largest in the country and boasts thousands of mounted creepy crawlies, live species exhibits, and plenty of interactive displays for visitors of every age. Open since 1992, the museum is set on teaching people about the often-overlooked world of anthropods, offering exhibits—including a cockroach kitchen and beehive—as well as specialty tours and seasonal events. Even if the thought of spending a day with bugs isn’t your idea of a dream come true, the museum has a surprising appeal for even the most easily grossed out.
