From June 4 – 13, 2010, Philadelphia will play host to one of the biggest beer festivals in the United States. No matter where you live in the Philadelphia area, 929 events are scheduled throughout the city and the suburbs during the ten days of Beer Week’s malty goodness and foamy fun! Kick off the week at Opening Tap 2010, where you can sample a variety of ales and lagers at the Independence Visitor Center (6th and Market Streets) at 7:30 p.m. From there, the week just gets better and better!

Here are a couple of the highlights: On June 5, make sure to drink you way to the Philadelphia Navy Yard for the 2nd Annual International Great Beer Expo. Participating breweries for this year’s festivities include Flying Fish, Yards, Leininkugel, Chimay, Duvel, Dock Street, Harpoon, and several others. Then, on June 10, head to Johnny Brenda’s for the 1st Annual Forum of the Gods, where you can listen to commentary from some of the top beer makers in the country and sample some of their acclaimed beers.
